Bra Shopping
Daniel had a lot of homework assigned tonight. He had to bring home his five-subject notebook, along with his science book, his social studies book, and his reading book, all of which are thick hardcover textbooks.
"Can you manage your backpack, Dans?" I asked. "With all of these books, it's pretty heavy."
"That's OK. I like to challenge my strength," he answered.
I went bra shopping tonight. Tab, who does all the laundry, has been deploring the sorry state of of my underwear, especially my bras which are practically falling apart. "Get some new ones," he urged. "You're still wearing your nursing bras, and the twins were weaned when?"
"Ummm. Two and a half years ago. I guess you're right."
Tab, who regularly reads the shopping circulars had noticed that Kohl's, a local department store was having a sale this week. So this evening after I picked him up at work, he dropped me off at Kohl's and took the boys to Wegmans, next door.
I must have tried on at least a dozen different styles before I found a truly wonderful bra, the most comfortable one I've ever worn. The back of it is designed like a jogging bra, and it is made of a soft cotton-synthetic blend. They regularly cost $28.50 but were on sale for $14.99. I bought three of them, as many as were available in my size.
I also found a nightshirt I really liked. It's pale purple with little yellow moons and owls on it. It's cute, but not in a sickeningly sweet way. Tab was not impressed.
"It looks like something your mother would wear," he groused.
"Yeah, that's why I love it," I said. "I like what my mother wears."
