Sore Legs

This morning when I was walking down the hallway on my way downstairs, I heard the twins singing in their room. They were finishing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," and when they ended, they applauded themselves. Then they launched into a rousing rendition of "I'm a Little Teapot." They sing well together, in near unison. I guess the songs at the library storytime made a bigger impression than I'd thought.

We went to the supermarket after we dropped Tab off. We stopped at the deli counter for American cheese, and the twins started begging for pieces of cheese. The lady at the deli counter overheard and offered them a slice. Later when we were standing at the checkout line, I heard a stealthy rustling. I glanced down at Stephen who was sitting in the seat of the cart and caught him surreptitiously sneaking bits of cheese out of the bag. His face was a big-eyed picture of guilt. I took the bag away, but didn't have the heart to yell at him.

All day long the muscles in my legs have been aching, from my bottom all the way down to the back of my knees. It's from sitting on the floor for two hours last night at that meeting. I knew I wasn't in great shape, but I didn't realize just how out of condition my muscles are.
